Introducing Surrey Police Federation’s new Treasurer Danielle Mead
18 August 2021
Surrey Police Federation’s new Treasurer, Danielle Mead, says she is looking forward to supporting officers in the force.
Danielle has been a police officer for 21 years and a Federation Rep for nine. Over her career she’s worked on response, neighbourhood policing and roads policing, both as a PC and a Sergeant. She said she had been keen to get more involved in the Federation in order to see “a different angle to policing”.
She said: “The Federation is so important because it represents rank and file officers and makes sure they get treated fairly; we’re the voice of reason for them. At Surrey we’re always looking to be proactive and make sure that everything – pay, working hours, shift patterns – are fair and being done correctly.”
Danielle is keen to start helping officers as much as she can in her new role. She said: “The Treasurer’s role is making sure that members’ money is used appropriately and goes back to the officers who are paying back in. We make sure that the money is accounted for appropriately. I’m really looking forward to doing the role, helping the Federation with their accounts and primarily supporting officers.”
Working out of the Police Federation offices at Leatherhead has been helpful for liaising with national Federation colleagues, Danielle said, adding: “It’s also a nice environment to bring officers into when they need support and advice from us.”
