Welfare van supports members during Response Policing Week

Suffolk Police Federation has been out on the road as part of Response Policing Week, bringing the force welfare van directly to frontline officers across the county.

Branch vice chair Matt Paisley and wellbeing lead Emma Arthurs, along with fellow Federation representatives, spent Thursday (23 April) in the wellbeing van, ‘Feels on Wheels’, offering members support.

Having engaged with more than 100 response officers in one day, Emma highlighted the importance of meeting members and connecting with them during what are often demanding and fast-paced shifts.

She said: “It was fantastic to get out in the welfare van and speak to so many officers face-to-face. We know how busy response policing can be, so being able to bring that support directly to them really matters.

“Across the day we engaged with over 100 officers, which shows just how valuable these visits are. Sometimes it’s simply about being present, having a conversation, and reminding officers that support is there.

“Response Policing Week is a great opportunity to recognise the incredible work our officers do every day, often in very challenging circumstances.”

The day also marked the launch of a new partnership, with LOWA joining Suffolk Police Federation’s list of service providers.

Representatives from LOWA Boots joined Emma and the team, giving them the opportunity to speak with officers and showcase their boots, which are designed to meet the needs of frontline policing.
