Suffolk Police Federation today pauses to remember Detective Constable Michael Last, who died in the line of duty 39 years ago.

Michael, 32, was killed on 23 September 1987 alongside Norfolk colleague Detective Constable Terence George Glister, aged 43.

The officers were killed in a road accident while carrying out Regional Crime Squad duties.

Suffolk Police Federation chair Darren Harris said: “Today we remember Michael and his Norfolk Police colleague Terence and their service.

“This tragic incident was felt across Suffolk and Norfolk police forces and our thoughts are with their families, friends and former colleagues.

“Our fallen colleagues are never forgotten.”
