Suffolk Police Federation

Annual conference: Branch secretary to discuss disclosure rules

10 October 2023

A discussion on the impact disclosure rules have on members featuring Suffolk Police Federation secretary Ben Hudson is one of the highlights of day one of the Annual Conference, which kicks off today.

Ben, who is also chair of the Police Federation National Detectives’ Forum (PFNDF) and is leading the #SimplifyDG6 campaign on behalf of the federation, will take part in a conference session exploring work by the NPCC Disclosure Portfolio to mitigate the impact of the changes to Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) guidelines.

The conference takes place online today and tomorrow and Suffolk members can register here to join in.

Hosted by broadcaster Ian Collins, the conference brings together decision makers, key stakeholders, and policing experts.

Today’s agenda also includes discussions on leadership in policing, Home Office review impact on independent panels, retirement, misogyny, and Mutual Aid.

On day two, the conference will explore industrial rights, and wellbeing, and there will be a keynote address from PFEW chair Steve Hartshorn and a Q&A panel session.

Outstanding policing contributions will be recognised through the presentation of awards for excellence in roads policing, detectives, and women in policing.

Members who are unable to be part of the conference can follow it and join in the discussions on social media using the hashtag #PFEW23
