A free online resource is available to provide advice and guidance to members of Northamptonshire Police Federation who are concerned about their child’s mental health.
The guide has been produced by Police Mutual for Children’s Mental Health Week (9 to 15 February).
The theme for this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week is This is my place, and it aims to help children and young people to feel that they belong and are supported.
The guide provides a walk-through of common emotional and mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.

It includes tips on how to help your child build resilience and to stay mentally well, including being physically active and eating a balanced diet.
There are also useful links to organisations and charities, should members need any extra support.
The Children’s Mental Health Week guide is available now to download for free.
It is part of a series of wellbeing resources produced for February by Police Mutual, which provides financial services and welfare support to police officers and staff, their families, and the wider police family.
Those resources include guides to help keep members financially fit, including advice on safe gambling and talking to children about money.
The Let’s Talk Money – Gambling guide explains that while many people gamble without harm, it can lead to financial difficulties, relationship problems, and stress, especially if someone starts gambling more than they can afford.
Key practical advice includes checking that gambling sites are licensed, setting spending limits and monitoring time and money spent, and using self-exclusion tools to take planned breaks from gambling.
The wellbeing guide on gambling also includes signposts to support. It is available to download now.
The companion guide Talking to your children about money offers members simple ways to build financial confidence in children.
It encourages parents and carers to start early with things like handling money, saving in a piggy bank, and making spending choices, and is available to download now.
