A commemorative book bringing together words and photographs from the Civic Memorial Service held for Police Constable Faizaan Najeeb has been presented to his family in Belfast.
The book, which was collaboratively arranged by Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Police Federation, captures the service held in April this year to remember Faizaan, who died last year.
The book brings together photographs from the occasion alongside tributes and words shared in his memory.
The book was present to Faizaan’s family during their visit to Belfast for the National Police Memorial Day service on Sunday (27 September).

Speaking about the importance of keeping Faizaan’s memory alive, branch chair Sam Dobbs said the continued references to him and the affection in which he is held were a source of comfort to his family.
“When we had his civic service, we said: ‘You only die when people stop mentioning your name,’” Sam said.
“This commemorative book is another way of ensuring that those memories are preserved.”
The presentation took place at an especially poignant time, coming just days after the first anniversary of Faizaan’s death.
His brother and sister travelled to Belfast to attend National Police Memorial Day, where Faizaan was remembered alongside officers from across the UK who have lost their lives while serving their communities.
Prior to this year’s service, Faizaan’s family were invited to meet the Policing Minister Sarah Jones, where they handed her a copy of the photo book.
After the service, they met with the Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, and were introduced to a number of policing figureheads, including Dame Fionnuala Jay-O’Boyle DBE DStJ, Lord-Lieutenant of Belfast and Sir Mark Rowley.
“Faizaan made an impact on a great many people, and that was evident in the way colleagues, friends and members of the wider community came together to remember him,” said Sam, adding: “He remains very much part of the Northamptonshire policing family, and we will continue to make sure his name is remembered.”
The book includes a copy of the letter sent by the Federation to His Majesty The King, as well as a tribute from Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet.
For Faizaan’s family, the book provides a lasting record of the Civic Memorial Service and the many people who came together to remember him.
Its pages capture the Civic Memorial Service not simply as an event, but as a lasting record of the respect, affection and gratitude felt for Faizaan by his family, friends, colleagues and the wider Northamptonshire policing community.
Sam ended: “To be able to present this to his family in Belfast, alongside remembering Faizaan at National Police Memorial Day, was a very poignant moment.
"His family have shown incredible strength, and we hope this book gives them another lasting reminder of just how many people cared about Faizaan and valued his service.”
For Northamptonshire Police Federation, presenting the book to his family in Belfast was an important opportunity to reaffirm that Faizaan’s name, his service and the impact he had on those around him will continue to be remembered.
