Northamptonshire Police Federation has wished two officers good luck ahead of this week’s national Bravery Awards.
PC Anna O’Donoghue and PC Callum Simpson risked their lives to pull a driver from a burning car following a crash at a petrol station.
The motorist was trapped inside his car, which was engulfed in flames after hitting a fuel pump.
Branch chair Sam Dobbs has now wished them good luck ahead of the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) Bravery Awards, which take place in London on Thursday (10 July).

PC Anna O’Donoghue and PC Callum Simpson.
Sam said: “The incredibly brave actions of Anna and Callum saved the driver’s life.
“They instinctively ran towards a highly dangerous and developing situation, putting their own lives at risk to save others who needed their help.
“This incident illustrates the dangers that our members face every day to keep the public safe.
“We are extremely proud of them both and wish them all the very best for the national Bravery Awards.”
The incident happened when Anna and Callum came across a car that had crashed into a fuel pump at a petrol station on the A45 westbound in Wellingborough.
The car was already on fire, and an injured passenger was trying to get the driver out.
Both officers ran towards the burning vehicle and managed to drag the driver out of the car and up the slip-road to safety.
The car was then engulfed in flames, which resulted in a series of explosions.
Sam added: “The annual Police Bravery Awards is undoubtedly one of the key highlights of my year. It’s an opportunity for us to turn down the volume on all the negative press surrounding policing.
“It’s a night full of pride and courage - a time for us not only to honour the brave actions of police officers but to recognise their loved ones too. I’ve said it before, we must never forget those who are at home, worrying and waiting for their loved ones to return after a shift. This event is as much for them.
“I’m thoroughly looking forward to the day and the ceremony.”
Anna and Callum were also recognised for their actions at this year’s Northamptonshire Police Federation’s Recognition of Police Bravery and Excellence in Policing Awards.
