90 days from today is Sun, 06 July 2025
20 February 2025
There are just a few days left for members to vote for who they want to be their workplace Federation representatives.
Voting opened on 3 February, and the ballot closes on Sunday (23 February) with the results being announced on Thursday 27 February.
All members have been sent an email about the elections, detailing how to cast their vote using an online portal. If you have not received the email please click here to ensure it is re-sent to you.
So far, less than 30 per cent of Federation members have voted.
“I would urge all members not to ignore this email and to take the opportunity to find out more about the officers who have put themselves forward to be Federation representatives,” says Charlotte Pateman, secretary of Northamptonshire Police Federation.
“Please carefully consider who you think would be most suited to representing and supporting members and vote accordingly.
“For the Federation to be as strong and effective as possible, we need the very best workplace representatives and branch officials, and we need the membership to help ensure that is the case.”
Those successful in the workplace reps’ election will form the new Northamptonshire Police Federation Branch Council. They can then put themselves forward to be elected to the Federation executive, the Branch Board, and, from there, a regional or a national role.
Members will later be asked to vote in any elections for a branch or national chair.
The Police Federation of England and Wales launched its triennial elections at the end of December last year, with all branches across England and Wales and the national office involved in the process.
The various stages of the elections continue for most of this year, with members of the new National Board taking up their posts on 1 October.
