The Police Federation of England and Wales’s (PFEW) survey of officers’ views on their uniform closes next week, and members in Northamptonshire are encouraged to take part.
PFEW is collaborating with researchers at Lancaster University on a National Police Uniform and Equipment Survey.
The survey explores a range of issues including whether the uniform is comfortable, whether it affects officers’ health to how it makes them feel.
The survey has had input from the National Police Chiefs’ Council, the Police Superintendents’ Association, UNISON and the Home Office, and data will help shape future uniform policy.
It closes on Monday 12 August.
Northamptonshire Police Federation chair Sam Dobbs said: “This is a really important piece of work to ensure that our uniform is comfortable, functional and fit for purpose.
“It’s a chance for members to highlight any issues so that they can be addressed and future decisions on uniform are fully informed.”
