Last year Cardiff hosted the annual National Police Memorial Day, and this year the event will move to Scotland.
The memorial day service will be held in Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 29 September.
Matthew Candy, chair of Gwent Police Federation, says officers should consider attending the event since it is one of the most important dates in the policing calendar.
“Our fallen colleagues, and the families, friends and colleagues they leave behind, should never be forgotten, and this is why the National Police Memorial Day has becoming such a key event for the police service,” says Matthew.
“While the service is attended by representatives of the Government, chief officers, Police and Crime Commissioners and other representatives of police forces and the police service, it is the families who are the most important guests of all. It is incumbent on us all to show them that their loved one is never forgotten.”
