Gwent Police Federation

Mental Health Awareness Week: webinar next week

10 May 2024

Mental Health Awareness Week starts on Monday (13 May) and will run until Sunday (19 May).

To coincide with this year’s awareness week, the Police Federation is staging a webinar which is open to all members and will highlight the importance of people looking after their own mental health and checking in on one another.

The webinar is being held on Wednesday 15 May between 10.30 and 11.15am and will also feature the launch of the Police Federation’s #AskTwice campaign. It will explain why asking if someone is OK twice is crucial, and outline the strategy behind the campaign.

As this year's Mental Health Awareness Week theme revolves around movement for mental wellbeing, Mel Lynch will be guest speaker. Mel will share her insights on building habits and routines, along with some simple ‘deskercise’ movements to improve mental health.

Mel served in the British Army as a physical training Instructor for 24 years. She is extremely passionate about helping others and enabling them to achieve their goals and make changes.

Gwent Police Federation members can register for the event now.
