I have been a police officer in Gwent for the last 20 years. I have been a federation rep for the last 3 years. I derive immense satisfaction from this role. Representing my fellow officers aligns with my core beliefs in fairness, justice and welfare.
Every day I am privileged to advocate for the rights and wellbeing of those officers who serve our communities, ensuring you are treated with respect and dignity and supported in your decision-making process.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of the role is driving fairness for all officers. This commitment stems from a belief that when officers are supported and valued, they are better equipped to serve the community effectively.
My passion for officer welfare is at the heart of everything I do. I understand the unique challenges and pressures that come with the job, from long hours and high stress situations to the emotional toll it can take on you. I will continue to push for the force to create an environment where officers can thrive professionally and personally.
I am eager to continue in this role. There is still a lot I am looking to achieve and am determined to push for improvements that will benefit all officers. I want everyone to feel heard, supported and empowered to perform their duties to the best of their abilities.
Thanks Rich for all your hard work this year.
