Officer "everyone wants on their team” named Gloucestershire Federation Response Officer of the Year

An officer whose work ethic and positive attitude make her the “person everyone wants on their team” has been named Response Officer of the Year at the inaugural Gloucestershire Police Federation Recognition Awards.

PC Georgie Parry joined the police in 2019 after serving as a Special Constable, and has been on C Shift Response since 2021, where she has thrived - always working hard and boosting her team’s morale with her upbeat attitude.

A colleague said: “Georgie is so dedicated, so relentlessly positive, and so incapable of saying ‘no’ that she may actually be powered by solar energy, or else take-away coffee!”

Her team says that her work ethic is “extraordinary”.

Georgie said: “I enjoy working in response policing as every day is different and I like the chaos a shift can bring. I’m very chatty and love being out and about talking to people. I always bring a sense of humour and try to keep spirits high as I think that can make all the difference to someone’s day.

"I enjoy challenges and in recent years have taken up the role of tutor Constable to help student officers. I thrive off helping others and find it humbling when I see them go on to become established police officers."

"C shift Gloucester really are the reason I’ve stayed on response for more than six years. The love and support they have given, to navigate me through tough times, I’ll always be grateful for. Every single one of them deserved this award so I’m extremely honoured to have received it."

No task is too big or too stressful, and Georgie approaches everything with respect and enthusiasm, even when it means finishing late. She tutors younger-in-service colleagues with patience and good humour, which she also encourages in her tutees.

Georgie also provides exceptional victim care. She approaches every interaction with empathy, kindness and a genuine desire to help. 

Gloucestershire Police Federation Chair Adam Williams said: “Georgie brings light, laughter and relentless dedication to her team. Her colleagues describe her as one of the hardest-working response officers they’ve worked with, and she very much deserves this award.”

PC Parry will attend the 2026 Gloucestershire Police Federation Recognition Awards on Thursday 10 September 2026.
