23 December 2025

As Christmas fast approaches, I just wanted to take a moment to look back on what’s been a year of progress and teamwork for the Essex Police Federation team.
2025 has brought plenty of change and growth.
We welcomed lots of new faces to the Branch Council – all with fresh ideas and energy that will help shape the future and continue the support and representation of you, the members. At the same time, we said goodbye to our previous Chair and Secretary, Laura and Dean, who retired after years of dedicated service.
A huge thank you to them for everything they’ve done (and continue to do in their new roles).
Nationally, the Federation has continued to transform into a more professional organisation, and locally we’ve worked hard to make sure we’re more visible and accessible than ever.
Whether it’s advice, support, or representation, we’re here when you need us.
We’ve invested in training and development for our new reps and strengthened our relationships with other branches, staff associations, support networks and our external service providers – because working together makes us stronger.
Most importantly, we’ve kept doing what matters most: supporting colleagues, whether that’s helping with compensation for injuries, providing access to medical assistance, assisting with representation during misconduct or criminal matters, or just day-to-day advice.
This is the heart of what we do, and I am proud of the difference we make.
Sadly, this year hasn’t been without loss. We have said goodbye to friends and colleagues, and their absence is deeply felt. Over Christmas, please take a moment to remember them and their loved ones. And for those working over the festive period – please stay safe.
Looking ahead to 2026, I’m optimistic. We’ll keep building on what we’ve achieved this year, making sure every member gets the support they deserve.
From all of us at the Essex Police Federation, have a great Christmas and a peaceful New Year. Thank you for everything you do for Essex and for each other.
