Members urged to have their say in Pay and Morale Survey

Durham Police Federation is encouraging members to take part in this year's Pay and Morale Survey, giving officers the chance to share their views on the realities of policing today.

The confidential annual survey, carried out by the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW), gathers feedback on key issues including pay, working conditions, wellbeing and morale. 

The findings play a vital role in helping the Federation represent members and campaign for improvements across the service.

By taking part, officers can help build a national picture of the challenges affecting policing, from increasing workloads and financial pressures to staffing shortages and the impact on morale.

The survey results provide robust evidence that supports discussions with Government, chief officers and other decision-makers, ensuring the experiences of frontline officers are heard where it matters most.

Influence

Durham Police Federation chair Louise Guest said: "The Pay and Morale Survey gives our members a real opportunity to influence the work we do on their behalf.

"Although the 3.5 per cent pay award has been announced, it's vital we continue to build the evidence showing how pay and wider working conditions are affecting officers.

"Every response strengthens our ability to highlight the pressures members are facing and reinforces our calls for fair pay, better support and improved conditions.

"I'd encourage every Durham Police Federation member to take a few minutes to complete the survey. The stronger the response, the stronger our collective voice."
