'The Police Federation is only there for members when they are in trouble.'
This is a common myth that we’re on a mission to dispel.
While supporting officers in times of crisis is a major priority for Durham Police Federation, we want to reinforce that we are there for every member, every day, supporting, advising and enhancing their roles throughout their careers.
That’s why we are hosting a new series of roadshows across the Force - and we are inviting members to come along, have their say and find out more about the support available.
The sessions are designed to be informal, open and accessible, giving officers and staff the chance to raise concerns, share experiences and hear first-hand what the Federation is doing on their behalf.
The first roadshow will take place on:
Members are encouraged to drop in, ask questions, discuss the issues and challenges they are facing, and learn more about the work being carried out to represent and protect their interests. There will also be a few freebies available on the day.
No.1 CopperPot Credit Union will also be attending the Darlington event. Supporting colleagues across 30 police forces, No.1 CopperPot will provide information on a wide range of financial products and services available to both police officers and police staff.
Further dates in the roadshow programme include:
More events will follow after the Easter break.
Deputy chair of Durham Police Federation Louise Ramshaw said: “Come along, get involved and make your voice heard.
“These sessions are an opportunity for members to shape the conversation, understand the support available to them, and strengthen the collective voice of the workforce.”
