Dorset Police Federation have started to present Commemorative Challenge Coins to retiring colleagues as a small token of thanks for their service.

James Dimmack, Chair of Dorset Police Federation, said: “We have recognised that all too often officers retire from their distinguished service and little ceremony or recognition of this achievement is made.

“As such we have commissioned a Commemorative Challenge Coin as a small token of our gratitude for the service given to Dorset.

“This was the brainchild of Federation representative Matt Such who bought this to life notably with the assistance of our treasurer and Deputy Chair Insp Chris Wood.

“I was honoured today to present the first of these coins to newly retired PC Tarik Dugri or now more comfortably "Taz"!

“Congratulations Taz for everything this you have achieved within your long career!”
