“Keen to see new Police and Crime Commissioner’s agenda”
One week ahead of the Police and Crime Commissioner elections, Dorset Police Federation’s Chair says she is keen to see the new PCC’s agenda and that she hopes they will continue to prioritise investment in policing.
Last year the Government postponed the election of Police and Crime Commissioners due to the pandemic, so elections are now going ahead on 6 May.
Chair of Dorset Police Federation Anna Harvey said: “As the PCC elections approach, I look forward to welcoming the newly elected PCC, and I know many of my colleagues will be keen to see their agenda.
“I hope we continue to see investment in policing – not only recruitment, but investment in our estates, support services, equipment and training. Many of our back-office functions that support the front line are vital and these need investment so we can provide a better service to the public.
“I will be seeking an early meeting with the new PCC to explain the role of the Federation and highlight the key areas affecting officers. Policing is complex and therefore it's vital I provide as much assistance to the newly elected PCC as I can.”
