Christmas and New Year Message from James Dimmack, Chair of Dorset Police Federation.

Whilst we approach Christmas most of the us will be thinking of family and getting together to celebrate. All of society will be very conscious of the threat that the Omicron variant will have on this.

This is particularly relevant to my colleagues who are out on the streets dealing with a myriad of issues and people. On top of this they will be working over the holidays to ensure the people of Dorset are kept safe.

I am extremely thankful for their efforts and selfless dedication which has kept Dorset Police functioning over what has been a hugely challenging year. For Policing it has been a marathon where the finish line has been continually extended. I am sure we all hope that the New Year will bring renewed optimism and opportunity.

I am continually reassured that regardless of the scenario Dorset Police will find a way to get things done.
