As we get closer to the Federation elections, the National Women's group has been discussing ways in which they can encourage members from under-represented groups to stand, either for the first time, or to remain as a Fed rep.
Along with the ongoing Reps@Work campaign, which highlights the incredible work reps do, a series of Election Café events are being run on the following dates:
18 May - 10am
25 May - 2pm
1 June - 6pm
These informal events are aimed at members from under-represented groups, with the aim of encouraging them to find out more about becoming a rep and showcasing how reps and self-organised groups are vital in supporting our 130,000+ members across England and Wales.
The events are 90 minutes long, followed by input from local federation reps within Devon & Cornwall. This is a great opportunity to hear what it's like to a federation rep and to ask any questions you may have.
If you would like to attend one of these events you will need to register by emailing pfevents@polfed.org. An agenda will follow later in the week.
If you have any questions about the National Seminars please email pfevents@polfed.org or speak to any of our self-organised groups.
If you have any questions about these locally managed events, please contact Inspector James Honeywill, Work Place Federation Representative, on 07974162083.
We hope to see you there!
