Pay and Morale Survey

3 November 2021

Take part in our 2021 Pay and Morale Survey – Together our voices are stronger

The only national survey, which captures your views on pay, conditions and morale, is now live.
This year’s survey is more important than ever before.
The findings will provide us with crucial evidence to support our ongoing national pay campaign in calling for fairer remuneration for police officers.

In May 2021 we withdrew from the Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB) after recommendations from the body were, once again, disregarded by the Government, seeing officers with no uplift in pay despite the efforts and challenges faced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The evidence from our survey this year is vital in supporting our ongoing campaign to seek fairer pay and remuneration for police officers across England and Wales.

Together our voices are stronger and more impactful. The survey takes approx. 10 minutes to complete.

Please visit our SharePoint page on the force intranet for your link to complete the survey.

What else do we do with the survey findings?

• To influence other policing stakeholders – for example, the College of Policing on initiatives such as competency-based pay. HRICFRS have also welcomed the robust and meaningful data in their Police Effectiveness Efficiency and Legitimacy (PEEL) assessment reports.
• Provide our local Federation Branches with their officers’ views on pay and conditions, which helps when they discuss such matters with their chiefs and local MPs.
• We present the results at high-profile academic conferences and have published in peer-reviewed policing journals.

This year’s survey will close on 30 November.
