Police Family thanked for raising funds for Cumbria Hospice

Cumbria Police Federation and the wider #PoliceFamily have been thanked for donating to vital end-of-life care for the terminally ill.

Guests took part in a raffle on the night of the Federation’s Recognition Awards at the end of June, raising an impressive £1,600 for Eden Valley.

Eleanor Viney, from Eden Valley, said: “A huge thank you to Cumbria Police Federation and to Chair Ed Russell and Secretary Jamie McTear who recently came on a tour of the facilities at Eden Lodge and saw first hand the difference this incredible amount will make.

“£1,600 could pay for a nurse for 59 hours of care, with compassion, helping someone to manage their pain, control their symptoms, and ensure that local families are able to make the most of the time they have left, making lasting memories with their loved ones. The generosity of everyone in that room - along with Ed and Jamie - has made this possible.”
