Police Federation of England and Wales National and Local election period begins

7 July 2021

The Local and National triennial election period for the Police Federation of England and Wales began on 1 July 2021.

The elections begin with nominations for Workplace Representatives.

You will have the opportunity to put yourself forward to become a Federation Representative.

Paul Williams, Chairman of Cumbria Police Federation, said: “Taking up the role of a Police Federation Rep can be very challenging however very rewarding. It has been one of the best career moves I made - and I would recommend taking up this role to anyone who is interested in making a difference.

“During my 20+ years of service I have met with occasion to need the help of the Police Federation and it made a huge difference. I honestly don’t think I would have coped at those times without the help of PFEW.

“That was my reason for becoming a Rep… to provide that vital support to members in their darkest times. PFEW makes a huge difference to the membership much of which remains unsung due to the nature of the issues and assistance they provide.

“Stepping into the Chairman’s role opened my eyes even wider and made me understand just how important and complex it is. I would encourage anyone to follow in my footsteps and fully support them in doing so.”
