Birmingham pub bombings

01 June 2016

The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) has welcomed the decision by coroner Louise Hunt to order the re-opening of the inquests into the 1974 Birmingham pub bombings which killed 21 people.

Steve White, PFEW Chair, said: “We welcome the re-opening of these inquests in order that the families of the victims can finally search for the truth. It is natural that they should want to find out who was responsible for the deaths of their loved ones and bring them to justice.  The Federation locally and nationally will support this enquiry and West Midlands Police in any way it can.”
